At a meeting of the Oamaru Steeplechase Club held last evening it was resolved to hold the next race meeting on May 24. After the election of officers and other routine business the foiiowing programme was drawn up and adopted for the forthcoming races: Maiden Plate of 40 soys; two miles; weight forage. Waitaki County Cup; 60 soys; 2£ miles; weight for age. Oamaru Steeplechase Club Handicap of 80 soys, with a sweepstake of 5 soys to go to the second hoi-e; 3 miles; weights to be declared after the Waitaki Comity Cup Race has been ruu. Hack Selling Race of 20 soys; no weight less than lost; the winner to be sold for £20, and surplus money to go to the funds of the Club. Consolation Handicap of 30 soys; two miles. The meeting is fixed for Queen's Birthday so that all horses engaged for the Waimate Steeplechase (to be held on May 15) can put in an appearance here.
