Solicitors : Messrs. Fell and Atkinson, Nelson, J. W. EoMfHREY, Esq., Interim Secretary. The object of tbe Company ia 'to work a Coal-mining Lease of BJO acres, situate at Waimangaroa Basin, Mount Rochfort, near Westport. which has been carefully s.lected from three projpectiug areas of 5000 acres, at an expenditure of about ,£iooo. Mr R. B. Dennisto-, G_vernm?nfc Coat Viewer, and Mr S. Herbert Cox, F.C.S. and F.G.S., Assistant Geologist, speak most highly hoth as to the quantity and quality of the coal foun 1 in this lease, whilst the analysis made at the Woolwich Dockyard classes it wuh the best North of England (Haitley) Coal. The railway is completed and open from Westport to Waimanguroa, and the Wellington I oal Company huve made a tranch thence of one mile five chains to their Mine, from which point ie is purposed lo make a tramway to the coal, about two miles in length. By carelul computation it. has been estimated that the cost of opening up and connecting the Mine with the Government Kailway, including all plant, will not exceed £15,000, and that the coal can be shipped free on board at Wf stport at 8s per ton. The cost of this property to -the Company is £5100, the whole of which the promoters have agreed to accept in p .id-up scrip in the C mpany, and in addition they bind themselves to take up not lesa than J_l7ooof shares, thus showing their faith in the bona fides of the Mine. 'lhe terms of the leose wil compel the Company to have the Mine in working order early in 1878, so that shareholders may rly on hiving returns far their money wiihin twelve months. Prospectuses and Forms of Application for Shares may be oblained, and a sample of ths coal seen, together with a pianof the property at the office of A. W. SCAIFE, Hi s Agens for Neleon.
