To tub Editor of the « Evening Mail.' Sir— Will you kindly allow me through the columns of your paper to answer a letter which appeared in the Times of Monday last signed " Farmer," concerning the management of our locdVrsllway and the wages paid thereon. I hold;* Sir,' that a truthful criticism is apt to produa^Kgreat amount of good, but when such criticismjis false it* is very like malice, and rendera the critic supremely ridiculous. Such is-the case with " Farmer," who seems to nra.tofcave been in a somnolent state. during tha las'fi fourteen months, from! which he has been rudely awakened by jthe bombardment of Rostrevor, and having fojind a mare's nest he immediately seeks to relieve his overcharge^ "feelings by publishing it abroad/ to the world.', I append a list of wages received by the.men on the line, and in conclusion would advise "Farmer" to get /his letter framed and. glazed and hung in his best room,, so that |in future should he awaken apd feel like rushitig into print, if it catdhes his eye it may servers a cuib to his feelings ' or, if hot, lee ['Farmer" publish his name and address, soP thitfc the parties spoken tif may mfeet him on a fair footing. ! .
