Frank; 2 pkgs, Hale; 6 cases fruit, Hooper; 1 sack potatoes, G. Phayl; 16 pkgs fruit, Hodder; 2 pkga, Buchholz; 3 cases, Cooksey.
The Kennedy arrived at Hokitika yesterday, but owing to the shallowuess of the river she grounded on the flat The immigrants were landed, and it is expected that the steamer will be floated this afternoon. The Charles Edward arrived from West Coast ports this afternoon. She will sail for Wellington to-morrow at 10 p.m. The Lyttelton left Blenheim for Nelson at 3-30 yesterday afternoon, but was not signalled up to the time of our going to press. The Taupo had to pass New Plymouth this morning without communicating with the shore, owin>j to the strong nor'-wester which is blowing. She will arrive to-night, and sail for the South on Monday afternoon. The Murray will leave for Westport and Greyniouth at 4 p.m. to-morrow. The Ringarooma, with the Suez mail, will oe due at the Bluff to-morrow. The Northampton will sail for] Wellington as soon as the wind changes. The Taranaki arrived at Port Chalmers at 9*15 thi9 morning. As will be seen by our telegrams she has had a narrow escape "from, running on shore. Passengers per Arawata for South and Melbourne: — Miss Burrow, Mesdames Tancred, Phayl, O'Neil and family, Lewis, Gollop, Nichol, Messrs Price, Sowman, Bycroft, Befcternam, Sandall, Phayl, Ah Young, Curtain, O'Neil, Lewis, Cowell, Tancred, Nichol, Small, Blackadder, Lommond. Webber, Pitt, Donovan, Larkins, Crompton,' Lires, Millar, Neal, Ones, Hart, Clayton. The cutter Margaret Scollay has been detained through stress of weather. She will take her departure on the first change of ■wind. The barque Canny Scofc will finish discharging her cargo of coal on Monday, when she will commence taking in ballast. She •will probably sail for Newcastle on Wednesday. Captain Griffiths, whilom of the steamer ladybird, but lattery of the Wakaiipu, has been appointed commander of the steamer Beautiful Star. The repairs to the Waiparaare progressing as rapidly as possible. The painters are now engaged in painting her, and when she comes out of their hands she will look quite fresh. It •will, however, be the latter end of next week ■before she is ready to proceed to Hok'tika. The umropitious state of the weather today has had the effect of postponing the departure of several of the coasting fleet, which will sail at the first opportunity. For the same reasons the arrivals and departures have been almost nil, the Lady Barkly being the oily one that has sailed, while the Charles Edward comprises the arrivals. '
