Lieutenant Muir, Dunedin 39; Sergeant Peak, Dunedin, 37; Sergeaut Kettle, Dunedin, 36. Third Carbine Extra Match— The five highest aggregate scorers in the six matches for the Championship. Ranges. 200, 400, aud 500 yards. Prizes— The North and South Challenge Cup, and five. new Snider rifles; the highest scorer in eacli team to receive £5. South Island, 317; North Island, 310. The South Island are, therefore, the victors by 7 points. Sergeant Hill, of Christchurch, t akes the Cup with a score of 68. M'Lean of Aucklaud (the Carbine Champion), with a score of 65 p ints, was the highest scorer for the North Island. Third Rifle Extra Match— North v. South Island.— The ten highest scurers in the six matches for the Championship. Ranges, 200, 500, and 600 yards. Prfzes— The North aud South Island Challenge Cup, and ten new Snider rifles (one to each of the winning team); the highest scorer in each team to receive £5. South Island, 653; North Island, 607. Majority for South Island, 46. Pavnter, of the Stoke Rifles (Nelson), wins the Cup, with the splendid score of 72 out of a possible 84. The highest scorer on the losing side is Captain Murray, of the Thames, with a score of 66. Staff Match.— Ranges, 200 and 500 yards; 7 shots. Ist prize, £6: 2nd, £5; 3rd, £3; 4 th, £2. Spence, 56; Dutton. 41; Christie, Bell, 38. Nothing is now left but the AllComers' Match, which will be taken to-morrow morning if fine. Thursday. The All-Comers Match commenced at one o'clock to-day. There are 74 entries. Today will complete the whole firing, to morrow will be devoted to the settlement of accounts, and the prizes will be presented in town on Saturday. The 200 ya-?ds range is just finished, Captain Murray (Thames) taking the range prize with a score of all bull's eyes.
