They have a curious way of deciding law-suits in North Siam ; both parties are put under cold water, and the one staying the longest wins the suit. in this country both parties are thrust into hot water, and then kept there as long as possible. It is announced that the King of Italy, in acknowledgment of (he merits of the member, of the Armstrong firm as eminent artillerists aud of his high satisfaction at the success of the 100-ton quo, has created Sir William Armstrong Grand Officer of the Order of St. Maurice aud St. Lazarus ; Mr George Reudel and Captain Noble, Commanders of the Order of the Crown of Italy; and Mr Stuart Red nel, Officer of the Order of the Crown of Italy.
