February 6, steamer Charles Edward, 125, Whitwell, from Wellington — Passengers : Mr and Mrs Hounsell, Mrs Newton, Master Hounsell, Mr Merrick. SAILED. February 6, schooner Sisters, 15, Charles, for Motupipi.
The jflood in the Buller river is so high that it ia impossible to beach the Kennedy, which will therefore be detained at Westport for another day or two. - The Taupo leaves' WelUngton to-night, will arrive to-morrow, and sail for the North at 4 p.m. The Wallace arrived at Westport this morning: The Arawata arrived at the Bluff last evening, and will be dne here on Saturday next. , ■ *- The Colonist is discharging her cargo of timber at the Commercial Wharf. The schooner Sisters took advantage of the S.E. wind bowing this mopning, and sailed for Motupipi. The p.s. Charles Edward, Captain Whitwell, arrived alotigsid-_.the Albion Wharf at B'3o this morning: f She left Nelson on the; 2nd instant at 6*30 p.m.; experienced thick foggy weather with light winds until going through the Pass; was kept dodging about in Guard Bay for two hdurs on account of the dense fog, arriving at Wellington at 9 a.m.; left at 8 p.m v yesterday, and experienced strong S.E. winds, with heavy showers of rain, until arrival here as above. She will sail for West Coast ports to-worrow at 4 p.m.
