The concluding portion of the report of the proceedings in the General Synod on Friday evening will be found in the fourth page. . The annual tea meeting in connection with the Congregational Church will be held tomorrow at 6 30 p.m. A sale of work.in aid of the Christ Church Parsonage Fund is to be held in the Parsonage garden to-morrow and on Wednesday, and will, be open from 3 p.m. untiLdark. A large number of useful and ornamental articles have been contributed by ladies who have been working for the purpose for several months past. A small charge will be made for admission, and; there will be music and games for children in the grounds. The Primate and Bishops aud several members of the Synod will be present at the opening.O With their usual disregard for the'interests of Nelson the Government have decided that the Rotorua, which is to. sail from Onehiinga to-night with the San "Francisco mail shall proceed to Wellington direct, leaving us here to get our correspondence as best we may. This will probably be by. the Wellington, which leaves Onehupga to-mor-row night, arriving here on Thursday morning. We are glad to learn that Mr Curtis has taken prompt action in supplying the bathing hole at the Maitai with such appliances as are likely to prove useful in the event of an accident. A life buoy, ropes, and poles have been provided, and it is hoped that these will not be. interfered with except in cases of necessity. ' . • A special :meeting of the members of the Naval Brigade is called for at the Custom House Hotel to-morrow evening at half -past seven 'o'clock. As the business to be transacted is most important it is necessary that there should be a full meeting r therefore all members of the Brigade are particularly requested to attend. The Most Delicious Dainties are regarded with indifference when the natural, sauce piquante appetite is wanting. Eating, with those who are never hungry, is a mere mechanical perforamce, not a source rof enjoyment. Such persons are, therefore, greatly to be commiserated. They seldom or never enjoy vigorous health, usually suffering from a want of tone and imperfect digestion.
