Statute No V. for the appointment of Pastors.
The proposed amendments of Statute No. V. for the appointment of pastors, printed in the Minutes ofthe Report of 1874 pages 34, 35, and 38, were referred by the General Synod at its last session to the. Diocesan Synods, aud their resolutions on these amendments will be laid before you. One of them suggesting a fundamental alteration in au important principle* myolvmg the transfer of the initiation of the appointment to the Bishop, has, so for as I know, not approved itself to any ofthe Diocesan Synods, but certain other proposed amendments will have to he considered.
