Their names are, Messrs Walker (captain), Wood (stroke), Hearne, and M'Grath, and they will commence regular practice immediately. They brought with them four boats, which have been placed in the Naval Brigade shed. The Star Club intend sending a crew about the end of the week. The Waimea County Council was summoned to meet at the Provincial Hall to-day at noon, at which hour, however, but one Councillor was present, the general public being represented by two M.H.R's, the Inspector of Police, a sergeant of ditto, the bailiff, and the reporters of the Mail and Times. It was not a beginning that augured well for the future, but when once the sitting had commenced the members certainly entered upon their work with a mil, and apparently with the full intention of performing their duties with credit to themselves, and advantage to their constituents. At the Lyttelton Regatta, held on New Year's Day, the yacht race was won by the Auckland yacht Secret, the Annie Ogle, which won the yacht race at the Wellington Regatta last year, being third. The Dunedin yacht Winona was nowhere, and did not go round the course. The race was for £75, and a cup presented by the N. Z. Shipping Company, valued at £25. The time allowance was 15 seconds per ton. The coaster's race was won by the ketch XXX, well known in Nelson, beating the schooners Belle Brandon and Transit, and the ketch Sarah and Mary. The Hawea'a gig won the ship's boat race through the other boats mistaking the course. Tho yachts Secret and Winona were to leave Lyttutton for Nelson yesterday. A Tremendous Convc&sion takes places in the human interior during a " billioua" attack. The muscles of the stomach are spasmodically contracted, the gall bladder is violently squeezed and empties bile into the stomach, which is again convulsed and casts out its contents into the mouth. The cause of this internal commotion is purely gastric, although the blame is often laid upon the liver. Invigorate the stomach with Udolhpo Wolfe's Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps if you would avoid "billious" attack.~Advt.
