The entertainment given at the OddFellows' Hall last night for the benefit of Mr and Mrs Bear attracted a full house, as considering the object in view, it was expected to do. The first part consisted of a musical melange, in which the Amateur String Band played some selections, and some very good songs were sung, not including Miss Lizzie Marten s vocal performances. The drama of Luke the Laborer" was, as on a previous occasion when it was placed before a Nelson audience by almost the same actors, remarkably well played, and reflected great credit on those who took part in it. The whole entertainment was a graceful recognition of the services so ably rendered by Mrs Bear at various times to the amateur dramatic companies of Nelson, and as such it was gratifying to find how largely it was patronised by the public.
