The Maori left Lyttelton for Nelson direct yesterday afternoon. The Murray will leave for West Coast ports to-morrow morning with the San Erancisco mail. The Ladybird with the San Francisco mail left New Plymouth at 8 o'clock this morning, and will arrive early to-morrow morning. She will sail for the South at 3 p.m. The Wallace leaves Wanganui this afternoon with a cargo of live stock for Mr Mabin. She will sail for West Coast ports on Saturday with a number of passengers for lvumara ex Wellington. The Kennedy arrived at "Westport to-day at 1 p.m., and will leave this evening for Greymouth. The schooner Uno arrived last evening from Adele Island with a cargo of stone. The steamer Lady Barkly returned from her usual trip to Golden Bay last evening. The Taupo sailed for tbe Northern ports shortly after twelve last night. On ber arrival at Oaehunga she will be placed under the command of Captain Carey, tbe popular commander of the Wellington. The usual quantum of arrivals was non est to-day, while the same may be said of the departures. The wharves are in a dormant state, the Murray, Charles Edward, and Lady Barkly being the only steamers alongside them. The p.s. Charles Edward arrived alougside the Albion Wharf at 12.10 p.m. to-day. She left Nelson on the Cth instant at 7 p.m., experienced light variable winds to Suit End, from thence S.E. wind to Hokitika, arriving off the bar at midnight ou the 7th; crossed the bar at noon on the 8 th, and made fast to the wharf on the 'Jth; discharged 55 tons of cargo, and left at 2.10 p.m. for Greymouth, arriving there at 3.-10 p.m. on the 10th; took in 6u tous coal, aud left at 3 a.m. on the 11th, arriving at Weslport at 12.30 p.m.; left for Nelson at 3.40 p.m., arriving here as above. Passed two steamers during the night. She will sail for Wellington to-morrow ut 2 p.m., aud leave there on Tuesday, arriving here on ■Wednesday, and will sail for West Coast ports by the same tide.
