The Kennedy left Wellington last night night at 7.30, and arrived here this morning. She brought a number of passengers for Kuinara, aud 50 tons of cargo for the Coast. She sails this evening for Westport and Greymouth. The Wallace arrived from Westport last night, and will sail for Blenheim at 5 p.m. The Charles Edward will leave for Hokitika direct this evening at 6.30. She takes a large cargo and several passengers for Kuinara. | The Murray is still off Kekerangu, where she is unable to communicate with the shore owing to the heavy easterly swell that is rolling in. The Albion leaves Wellington to-day, will arrive to-morrrow, and sail for Sydney via West Coast the same day. The Alhambra will be due on the Coast on Monday uight. The steamer Lady Barkly started on her usual trip to Golden Bay last evening. The cutter Lido arrived this morning from Blenheim. The schooner Waihopai arrived from Wanganui last evening, haviug left that port on Tuesday evening last. The schooner Awaroa was towed to sea last- evening at G o'clock by the Lady Barkly. Her destination is Wanganui. There was the usual land breeze blowing at the time, which gave her a good offing. The Union Company's s.s. Ladybird, Captain Audrew, came into harbor at 8.30 this niorning. She left Port Chalmers on Monday at 2 p.m., and arrived at Lyttelton next morning; sailed again same day, arriving at ! Welhngton at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday; left for Picton at 2 p.m. yesterday, arriving there at 7 p.m.; left agaiu at 11 p.m., arriving here as above. Fine weather marked the passage up. She sails North at 7 p.m. The ketch Prospect sailed again last evening for Fern Town for a cargo of coal for the Gas Works. A number of small coasters took their departure last evening at high water, the fine clear uight, and light breeze blowing, with every prospect of fine weather, no doubt, inducing skippers to clear out. As they sailed down the harbor they gave it a lively appearance. The Union Company's steamer Waitaki arriyed at Port Chalmers from Hobarton on Tuesday last. Our telegrams from Westport report that ths steamer Matau broke her back last evening, parting just forward of the boiler. AU attempts of the Luna to tow her olf proved abortive, and now that her back is broken she will most likely leave her bones on the sand.
