The Wellington left New Plymouth for Nelson this morning. She will arrive tonight, and sail for the South to-morrow morning. The Ladybird left Dunedin on Monday with 60 miners to be transhipped here to the Kumara. She will arrive here on Friday morning, and sail for the North on the same day. The Otago arrived from Sydney via West Coast ports this morning, and sailed for the South by the same tide. The Kennedy left Greyniouth for Wellington yesterday morning. The s.s. Express has been laid on at Dunedin to convey passengers to Greymouth for the Kumara. The schooner Uno sailed last evening for Adele Island for a cargo of stone. The Awaroa sails to-morrow for "Wanganui. The long expected Maori showed up yesterday afternoon, and entered the harbor at live o'clock. Captain Malcolm was evidently determined to make up part of the time he has lost through being bar-bound, for he scai-cely remained in port one hour, sailing for Lytteltoii at 6 p.m. The p.s. Charles Edward arrived alongside the Albion Wharf this morning at 9.40. She left Nelson on Sunday the Ist instant at 8.10 a.m. Avith a number of passengers for the Kumara rush ; experienced light variable ■winds to Cape Farewell, from thence to Greymouth S.W. breeze with heavy swell, arriving off that port at 10 a.m. on Monday; left yesterday at 10.45 a.m. for Nelson; had fine weather with light S.W. wind until arrival here as above. The Charles Edward made the run up from Greymouth to Nelson in 23 hours, proving that her rate of speed has not been diminished. She sails for llokitika on Friday. The s.s. Murray arrived last evening from West Coast ports. Captain Palmer reports leaving Nelson at 3.25 p.m. on the 21st ult., arriving at Wcstport at 1 .-»5 p.m. on the 22nd, where she was detained by heavy weather until the 25th, when she* left for Greymouth, arriving there at 2 p.m. same day. Here another detention took place, caused by the prevailing stormy weather and the shallow condition of the bar, which lasted ■until 9.30 a,m. on the 2nd inst., when she left for Westport, aniving there at 6.30 p m. ; left again at 10.30 p.m. for Nelson, and arrived here as above. At 11 a.m. yesterday sighted the schooner Alert off the Sandspit bound South. The Murray sails for Kekeraugu and Wellington to-day.
