The Manawatu Times of the 13 th instant says: — On Sunday evening last, as Mr Andersen, a settler, was walking down the railway line about ten miles frem Eoxton, he observed a large number of the old wedges formerly used for the wooden train way packed upon each, rail, further investigation showed him that they had been skilfully ar* ranged for \he purpose of throwing the next train off the line. The police are using every endeavor to trace out the culprits.
