The Wellington left New Plymouth, with the Sau Francisco mail, at 11.15 this morning. &he will arrive early to-morrow morning, and sail for the South at 8 o'clock. The Kennedy will sail for West Coast ports to-morrqw morning at y o'clock. A barque was signaled this afternoon. She is supposed to be the Queensland with a cargo of coal for Messrs Cross Bros. The Murray arrived at Wanganui early this morning. She is to sail for .Nelson tonight, weather permitting. The Alhambra, now over due on the Coast, is not yet reported as having arrived. The Arawata will be due at the Bluff tomorrow. The steamer Lady Barkly arrived this afternoon from her usual trip to Golden Bay. The schooner Richard and Mary is on the berth for Waitapu, where she will load up with timber. The brigantiue Esther is berthed alongside the Commercial Wharf, and will commence to discharge her cargo to-morrow should the weather clear up by that time. -The inclement state of the weather to-day has had a sensible effect upon masters of eqasting vessels. The schooners Awaroa, Arthur Wakefield, and Waihopai were to nave sailed this afternoon, but the strong N.W. wind which set in has had the effecc ot making them put off their departure until tq-morrow. Several other coasLing vessels are also detained through stress of weather. ''f£ c Uuim Company's s.s. Hawea, Captain YYJieeier, came into harbor last evening at 7 Cblock. She left Port Chalmers on Monday afternoon, arriving at Lyttelton next morning; left' same afternoon, arriving at Wellington on .Wednesday morning. Was advertised to leave Wellington at midnight, but the weather being so thick that it was utterly impossible to geD out of the Heads, the departure of the Hawea was put off until 2 aon. yesterday, but at that time, there being na improvement, her departure was further postponed uutil 5 a.m., at half past that hour Bhe nnally left, arriving at Picton at 10 a.m.; left again at 11.15, arriving nere just in time to save last night's tide. From Wellington to Picton experienced a beavy sea with wind from S.E., but blue sky, thence from Picton tine -weather until between Jackson's Head and the French Pass, when the weather became thick, with drizzling rain, which continued until her arrival here. On her last trip South the Hawea was placed in dock, where she underwent her periodical overhaul, and was painted. Between Picton and Nelson she made some good running, having averaged ll| knots the whole way.
