To the Editor of the 'Evening Mail.'

Sir— ln Thursday's Colonist I see that " Citizen" has tried to traduce the name of Councillor Gray, whose integrity I can individually vouch for. This man is just and upright in all his dealings, and a more indefatigable, industrious, and a less selfish Councillor (no disrespect to the present members) has never been a member of tlie City Council, and I can find numerous individuals who can vouch for the truth of my assertion. He is a gentleman whose time employed as a Councillor is only a pleasure to him and he is not sparing of it. I am, &c, Ajiebicus.
