There is no improvement in the Hokitika bar, which is stilt impassable, The Kennedy reported last night that there was no prospect of leaving Westport until tonight. Tbe Murray is still a prisoner at Greymouth. Owing to the line being down between Wellington and Wanganui there is no newt of the bar-bound vessels at the latter place. The Albion arrived in harbor at 10 o'clock this morning after a very rough pass.ge from Sydney. The state of the Hokitika and Grey bars prevented her being tendered at either place. She will sail for Wellington to-mor-rowmorning. The Union Company's s.s Taranaki, Captain Andrew, came into harbor at - 8 o'clock this- morning. She left Port Chalmers on the 1 st, -Lytteiton tbe 2ni, arriving in Wellington on fcuaday afternoon; left again yesterday at 2 p.m , ani arrived at Picton at 6.30 p.m.; sailed for Nelsrn Rt 10 p m., arriving here as above. She sails North at 7 p.m. A Btgnal for a topsail schooner has been flying all day, but we do not know of any. vessel of that class expected, except the Awaroa from Wanganui, and as that vessel is. not yet reported as havjng left Wanjanui, it cannot be her. The schooaer Uno arrived .thi-j afternoon from Adele Island with a cargo of stove. fcr the new Government Wharf. The ket.h Peari sail_d this morning for Moutere for. a cargo of timber. The Lsdy Barkly sailed for Motueka this morning, and returned again in the afternoon. She sails lor Goldan Bay at 8 p.m. to-morrow. The schoaner Herald was put up to uuction at Wellington on Saturday, and bought iv at _697 5, the reserve price being jSIOOO. The Taranaki will be laid up afc Wellington on her return there from her next trip to Dunedin for the purpose of being fitted whh new boiler?. The Ladybird will take up her running and continue the coastal service until th. completion of the Taranaki's alterations! which are expected to occupy two months.
