Woqd stated th»t Dr. Collis Br>>wne was undoubtedly the Inreator of CfcIOaODYNB; that the story of the defendant, Freeman, being the inventor, was deliberately uitrua, which he regretted had been sworn to Eminent Hospital Phyßicianc of London stated that Dr. J. Collis Browne was the disco vorer of Chlorodyne ; that they prescribed it largely, and mem no other than Dr. Browne's. —See Times of July 12, 1864. To it I fairly owe my restoration to health, after eighteen months' of severe suffering, and when all other remedies bad failed." Dr. Lo*e, Medical Missionary in^lndia, reports (December, 1865) .—"That in nearly every case of Cholera in which Dr. J. Collis Browne's Chlorodyne was administered, the patient recovered." Extract from the Medical Times, January 12th, 1866 :—" Chlorodyne is prescribed by scores of orthodox Medical Practitioners. Ui course it wuuld not thus be eingularly popular, did it not 'supply a want and fill a place.' " Extract from the General Board of Health Londou, as to its efficscy in Cholera : "So strongly convinced are we of the immense value of this temedy, that we cannot too forcibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all cases." BEWARE of spurious and dangerouc compounds sold as OHLORODYNE, from which frequent fatal results have followed. See leading article, Pharmaceutical Journal, Ist of August, 1869, which states that Dr. J. Collis Browne was the Inventor of "Chlorodyne ; that it is always right to use his preparation when Chlorodyne is ordered. CAUTION.— None Genuine without the words, " Db. J.
