The ordinary convocation of the Eoyal Arch Chapter will be held this evening at seven o'clock punctually. The City Eifles will parade for the monthly inspection at 7*30 this evening, and the City Cadets at seven pan. tomorrow. : The exhibition of waxworks at Manson's old store was opened yesterday evening, and, aided by the attraction of a large number of gifts, many of them of considerable value, which were most liberally dispensed, each visitor receiving a present of one kind or another, drew a considerable attendance. It was opened again this afternoon, and will remain open for a few days and nights longer. Our friends in the Waimea appear to ba bent upon enjoying a little gaiety this week. In our advertising columns we notice that a public ball is to be held at Eichmond to-morrow evening, and that a concert will be given at Lower Wakefield on Friday for the benefit of the local cricket club. On the latter occasion a special, train will leave Nelson for Wakefield, returning after the concert.
