There is a pleasing simplicity (writes the "Intelligent Vagrant") about the conduct of public worship in the up-country churches. A friend of mice travelling in the Rangitikei and Manawatu districts, writes me that he attended service at a church at one of the townships last Sunday. When tho time for collection cams, the gentleman who acted as collector took from his pocket a capacious tobacco pouch, and going around with it received {herein tha offerings of the faithful.
