WEBLEY'S CLOTH FACTOEY
The meeting called for last eyeninawas not so fullj attended as was ex! pected, owing to the fact of its being a holiday. 11. E. Curtis, Esq., occupied the chair, and a draft prospectus, which set forth the prospects of the proposed company most fully, having been read, it was suggested that the probable amount of support the company would be likely to meet with should be ascer-
tained, if possible, and reported to an adjourned meeting, to be held on Friday evening next, afc the same hour and place. We trust that all those who take an interest in the development of our local industries will lend a helping hand to this one, which will not only give employment to a large number of hands, but offer a good return for the capital invested, aa the works are to be purchased for " a mere song," and are ready for immediate and remunerative work. It wili be a long time before another such opportunity will present itself. We understand that Mr Scaife will be most happy to lay the whole information collated by the Committee before any persons who may wish to inquire into the matter in the meantime.
