Weluitgton, Thursday. In reply to inquiries by this Government, the Sydney Government telegraphs that no iurtlier action has been taken re a second cable for European communication, because no answer has yec been received from the Victoiian Goyexum r nt. Friday. Ine Government have received the foliowiog cible messige from Sydney, dated August 4ih:-.«-Tho Lyeemoon lett Banioewangie at 5 p.m. on July 29. and arrived at Port iJarwla yesterday afternoon. She has been detained waiting for messages by the French mail, Jaud has aho been detained on the passage by a .south-east monsoon, and an exceedingly strong current all the way. The offijer in charge of the Lyeemoon reports that telegraphi : communication has been interrupted via Siberia by floods since July 19 an i that there is no probability of its being restored at present. . The majority of the 18 egrauis scut by the Lyeemoon caught the s.eini^r leaving fenang on July 26, and the remainder weac by the msil on July 29. Do not expect replies from London much under a fortnight. There is no news of importance from Europe. Telegrams per Lyeemoon mustbef.rwarded not later ihau one pm. on Saturday, the sth instant.
