It was resolved to apply to the General Assembly for p^wer to exercise control over arteshn wells with a view to prevent waste. A strong football team will be got together to play the Northern provinces Wednesday. At a. meeting of the Chairmen of Road Bnp.rds to dis-euss the Government policy, a resolution was moved that the proposal respecting the creating of County Boards waa unsatisfactory, as providing cumbrous machinery for discharging duties which Road Boards were quite able to undertake. The opinions for and againsr. the resolutions were abont equally divided, and ultimately it was resolved to adjourn tbe matter until after the second reading of the Counties Bill.
