Tha remainder of the afternoon was occupied in discussing the Municipal Corporations Act Amendment Bill, which was taken up at clause 29 (number of votes of burgages)- _._ ardent discussion wis kept up throughout. After the liouse resumed last nigkt, Mr Richardson made the Public Works Statement, which occupied an hour and a half. He was applauded at its conclusion. The Pubiic Works Bill was read the first time, and ordered to be read the second time on Tuesday next. The Premier culled attention lotheposLion in which the business ofthe Housj was, and said i> was absolutely reeessiry to get on with the political business without further postponement.
