The Kennedy sot out of Hokitika yesterday morninar, arrived at Greymouth by the same tide, and will sail to-night for Nelson via Westport wiih the outward San Francisco mail. The Murray left Greymouth this morning for Nelson direct. She will sail for West Coast porta on Thuraday. The Wallace Jeft yesterday morning for Westport. where she arrived at 9 am. to-day. She will sail for Greymouth to-ni^hD. The Wellington leives Onehunga to-day, .will arrive to morrow night, and s.iil for the South on WednesSay morning. The La'iy B-irkiy returned from Havelock at 8 30 last evening, after a good run of eleven and a half hours. A number of the " mosquito fleet " entered the harbor on Saturday, namely, schooner Australian Maid trom Awaroa, schooner Waitohai from Haveloik, ketch Prospect from Fern Town, cutter Southern Cross from French Pass, and ketch Standard from Marahau. The Awaroa \vill sail for Wanganui tomorrow morning. On the last trip of the Hawea down Fouth she underwent a thorough ovr-rhaul, and was painted both outside and inside. While at the Manukau on this trip the ballast will be Bhifted forward so as to admit of her going up to Dune Un on her next trip, her present draught being 13ft 6in aft, which wiil be reduced to lift 6in. The Post of Thursday says: —The Union S.S. Co's steamer T.iupo left this wharf yesterday afternoon half an hour alter the departure of the R.M.S. City of New York, both bound for Lyttelton. The Taupo arrived this morning at 7 o'doek, whiie the City of New York eid not get in till 7.30, the New Zealand boat thus beating the American ginnt by an hour. The Taupo averaged twelve knots and the City of New York eleven during the run.
