A fire at St. John's, Canada, destroyed the entire business part of the town, a mile long and six hundred yards wide. Two hundred families were rendered homeless, and many barely escaped with their lives. The Indians in Nebraska made a descent on the settlers, killing 100 within a week. The Protestant church at Mexico has been burned by faoatics. Thirty thousand daily attend the Centennial Exhibition. The foot and mouth disease has broken out among hogs in some parts, and fn Canada is slaying hundreds. In grain crops there is a probability of changes in prices. New York, June 17. The barque John Mathews has been chartered from Boston for Auckland, and tbe Josephine from New York for Dunedin.. Sperm oil is quiet here and at New Bedford, 1 dol 35 cents; petroleum, 17i to 20 cants for export; wool dull, sales of 2500 bales of Australian are reported at 40 cents. Liverpool. Wheat quotations 10a to 10* 6d per cental, San Francisco, June 21. New wheat, 1 dol 60 cents; oats, 2 dols to 2 dole 40 cents; hops, 12 to 15 cents.
