Wellington, Wednesday. In the Loftislativa Council t >-day Mr Hall moved that, having reg nd to the large aggregate amount of dep >sit 9in tho Post Office fraying* Bank, it is expedi nt that terms upon which repayment of deposit may be demanded should be reconsidered by the Government. He said ths total amount of deposit in the colony approached three-quarters of a mi lion, and pointed out that in case of panic and a general demand being made by depositors, Government would find it difUcu't to find money, which would prove a blow to the colony. He surges'ed a saving clause in tbe regulations, such as is "n force in Australia The motion was carried.
