UPPER MOTUEKA ROAD BOARD.
The Board met on Monday last. All the meaiberß were present. r Mr Needham was elected Chairman for tbe ensuing twelve months, and Mr Lindsay was re-appointed Secretary and Overseer. Resolved, That the offer of R. Edgar to form the road in Motupiko 30 instead of 20 feet for 4s per chain extra were accepted. . Resolved, That the Provincial Secretary be informed tbat the Board recommend the new line of road between Motueka Valley and Stanley Brook as the work to be executed with the £150 balance under the "Payment to Provinces Act," notified as being at the disposal of the Board. Resolved, That all ratepayers in arrear receive written notice that proceedings will bo taken to recover all rates remaining unpaid on the 7th day of August next. „ Resolved, That the Secretary be instructed to have an assessment prepared by the next meeting of the Board, to be held on the 14th August at 10 a.m. A letter was received from tbe Provincial Secretary, asking if the Board would undertake to make the Hope road available for empty drays upon receipt of £20. Resolved, That the Provincial Secretary be informed that the Board cannot undertake the necessary work upon receipt of that sum. Accounts amounting to £57 4s 6J were passed and paid by cheque.
