KEROSINE OIL. " DEVOE'S BRILLIANT," In 2 Gallon and 4 Gallon Tins. HHHE above BRAND is tbe best X usually Sold, but to meet tbe requirements of those who wish a FINER QUALITY of OIL, W. G. haa IMPORTED a small quantity of " Downer's," which is the best procurable, but generally neglected on account of its somewhat higher price. {In \-Gailon Tins only.) To ensure a good Light from Kerosine Lamps, those who trim them are ] reminded of the following precautions ; Oil should never be allowed to remain in the Lamp for more than a few days, bat the reservoir should be occasionally emptied and washed. Lamps should be died, Cottons wiped (not cut), and Chimnies cleaned every morning. Wicks should be of proper size and thickness, and when new should be well dried at the fire to expel every particle of moisture before being put into the kerosine. All Snuff and Dust should be removed from the Burners, and ail air-holes kept open. Kerosine should not be exposed to the action of the air or the sun. W. C.
