SHIP CAMPERDOWN.
To TnE Editor ok the ' Evening Mail.' Sir— lo your account of the arriv.l of the Ciraperdown you state that a congratulatory addrtes to the Surgfion was signed by all the immigrant. Idi not know from whom you re<;eive'l this information, hut the soiree was certiiuly not a very reliable on.;. The captiin Ins to my knowledge received ihrte petitions from the immigrants against the abusive conduct of Mr. Booth one of which I myself signe 1. I was present at the iDspecti»n by the Immigration Otficer, and the coraphints were, to Bay the least, pretty general. In justice to Captain Paton, I think it right to state that both immigrants and officials spoke in the highest terms of tin ahip, and the captain has rtceived two teatimoniah thanking him and his officer* for the kmdntss and atteniim they have invariably shown to all on bo=irJ. larn.&c, F.
