[From oob own Correspondent.] Wellington, Wednesday. The football match, Nelaon College versus Wellington College, was played > esterday afternoon before a number of spectators The weather was flue. Play bejyan at 2-30, when Wellington kicked off, which was followed up by a tremendous chaige by the.Nel.onians who kept the ball down by the adversaries god until time was called. Wellington now had the wind in their favor,' nnd by a heavy charge suceeded in obtaining , a try, but no goal. This success -ncourapel them, and, . hbrtly afterwards Burne obtained n goal by a drop kick. At this the Nelson team Were much (lislie .rtened, but by soma very good play they were encouraged, but to no purpose, (darkness unfortunately mi. sing the ball. Brandon than. sent it flying between the goal posts, thus securing two goal, f..r Wellington, ise'son's hopes were. now down below zero, but tstiil towards the e_d they played splendidly, keeping the ball by Wellington's goal When time waß called Wtllington had scored two goals and a try ; Nelson, nothing. The Wellington team was much heavier than that from Nelson, but the latter were more active. The Nelson team was entertained at a dinner la_t night at the College.
