There was a slight improvement in the tone of the market beiore Easter, but this was lost after the recess, and ■we can report ho improvement on our last, month's' quotations. The attendance of buyers his been good, an t competition fairly sustained. Accounts from tbe manufacturing districts .are not good, and there is no present, prospect of recovery in prices. Range of prices — New . Zealand Washed Fleece : Superior, Is 9J to 2s 4dj medium, is 5d to li 8d; inferior and faulty, Is 4£i_ Scoured: Is lOd to 2s Id; medium, Is 5d to Is -id; inferior arid faulty, ls3|dto Is 4'JJ. Greasy Fleece;:. Medium, 9|'d to Is 2d. The next Beries bt ; ' sales' will commence on' the 20th June, by which time 300,000 hales will most likely beayailable. Tallow. —Trie Eister holidays have, as usu^,. somewhat affected this trade, but a fair amount ut business has been done. The sales hy auction have been 1,611 casks, and further private sales are reported.
