MAGISTRATES' COURT.
[Before Hunter Brown and H. C. Danikll, . Esqs., J. J.P.].' WEDNESDAY, June 21. There were four charges of breaches of clauses 3 and 4 of the bye-law : passed by the Council on the 28th December, 1875, against William Wells, of Rus-sell-streefc, in which eleven cows arid three horses were involved. The charges were all proved, and the defendant was ordered to pay fines and costs amounting to £4 18s. 6d. James Donaldson was charged with a breach of the same bye-law. The case was adjourned to the 28th inst. . Richard Ball pleaded guilty to assaulting William Hale, jun. Informant did not press the case, and the defendant was ordered to pay lis 6d costs. CIYIIi CASES. Williamson v. Jackson. — Action for balance of account ior goods sold (£l4 ss). Mr Pitt appeared for the plaintiff and Mr A. Adams for the defendant. Judgment for plaintiff ; £2 costs to b,e paid at once, and the amount sued for in three months. Mullamo v. Hamilton. -7— Action to recover £1 for fish sold. Judgment for plaintiff and 9s costs. Levestam v. Orr. — Action for overdue promissory note (£l9 2s). MrPitt appeared for the plaintiff and Mr Fell for the defendant. Judgment for plaintiff; £5 to be paid at once, and the remainder by instalments of 10a per week.
