AocKLiND, Saturday. The Superintendent addressed a letter to the Marquis of Normanby, asking permissioi to institute legal proceedings relative to the Pinko swamp sale. The Governor replied that he had forwarded the letter to his responsible advisers in Wellington. Sir . George Grey asked him to send copies of all the letters that have passe i relative to dealing with the Native lands to the Secretary of State The Governor consented. A deputation from the Kifle Association waited upon Sir Donald M'Lean, and represented the inferior nature ot the Snider rifles and ammunition, which prevented the Volunteers from qualifying for the Colonial firing Sir Donald M'Lean promised to attend to the matter.
