At the adjourned meeting ..of-Jtbe Titanic Steel and Iron Company, held last night, the shareholders from the other provinces were not represented, but several resolutions from Dunedia and Taranaki were read and discussed. The chairman pointed out with reference to the supposed allotment of 500 shares to Smith that there would be no such allocation unless the patent showed they oould work the sand profitably, and he was certain that, although the patent might be successful practically, it could not possible be so financially, and there need be no apprehension of any claim being made upon the Company respecting those 500 share. The result of the meeting was that the directors were empowered to put the Company's furnace in blatt with as little delay as possible. Mr. O'Shea , reports, wholesale produce prices as 'follows ;— Flour, Phoenix, in request ; other Oamaru brands, £11 15s ; oats, 2s 61 to 2s 9d, heavy stock-; maize, 4s 3d ; bran, Is; potatoes, £4; cheese, lOd ; hams and bacon, tod. At a meeting of tbo Education Board today all the applications for increased, accom- . modation and additional teachers, .though .much requirod, were refused, as the Executive would be. unable to' provide the necessary fuads. The' Harbor Board resolved at to-day's meeting, to deepen the outer and inner bars at the Heads, by means of heavy harrows, drawn by a steamer. This plan was, tried, some,, years ago, and proved successful. , ' ' Friday. l In the grain market wheat has a Bteady demand at 4s 6d to 4s 8d for good to prime, and 4s 2d to 4b 4d for ordinary ; oats, 2s, fori best samples .of milling,, and Is 9d to Is lOd for good feed.
