MOTOEKA WHARF.
To the Editok op the 'Evening Mail.-'' Sir,— Being -a pssienger by the Lady' Barkly la»t Wednesday evening to Motueka, I was surprised to find that such a large exporting district bad such a broken-down wharf. In fact it is' totally umafe for passen-v gers to walk along, as the timbers are perfectly rotten, ,and here and there are large holes, wliich T may truly describe as mantraps. This wharf is, greatly in need of repairs, which, iff not effected imm.diately , will be paat. redemption. Surely the'Provincial Government will take -this matter into immediate consideration, so that passengers and cargo may with safety ply up and dowp.7 I may also add tbat the wharfinger is afraid to trust more than three or four tons of goods on the end of it for shipment, for fear it might give way altogether; snd as for shipping or landing stock, it ia perfectly but of the que> tion, thus causing a serious loss to the public, as well as the lessees. 7 ' lam, &c, • ■ -<• »:.
