With all due deference to tbe gentlemen composing the Local Committee of l<duc*tion, I Ihutnbjy submit that a mistress should have beeu, appointed t6 t tbis school qualified to teach the girls sewing' and knitting, as well as the three lie. .Looking upon a knowledge; of;needlework as highly heceseary to an> girf. I consider th»t this most useful branch of industry should be regularly taught in all our girla' schools;-and> where the children take a lancy to the work, that they should be encouraged id it, : While upon this subject, permit ms to ask the reason why needlework is discontinued by the present mistress of Hampden-jtreet school.
