The Phoebe arrived tbis morning and sailed for the South'by tbe same tide. The Wallace arrived at Hokitika, and will laave for Greymouth to-morrow. The Ringarooma, with the Suez mail, is expeeted to arrive here on Thursday. TheJKennedy arrived at Westport vester--day evening, and will leave for Hokitika tonight. Tbo Ocean Bird arrived from Oamaru yesterday with a cargo of grain for Messrs N. Edwards and Co. The schooner Wanganui arrived yesterday afternoon, - from Kaknnui, witb a cargo of produce, having leit 'hat port on Wednesdav. The Lyttelton arrived from Blenheim this afterrioon. ■ She will -go on the cradle for repairs to-morrow, and sail for Blenheim on Tbursdav. Thß Murray, after a lo.g detention on the Coast, arrived in harbor l«st evening. She will leave for Wanganui and Opnnake to-mor-row at flve.p.m. .. In response to an invitation from Mr Moutray, about thirty persons aspembled . on board his new schooner on Saturday afternoon, in order to take a trial trip in the harbor. The Uno cast off from Franzen's Wharf shortly before four o'clock, and proceeded down the harbor with a light N.E. breeze. When opposite the Commercial Wharf she was haulei on the wind, when she made; but slow pro_ress, h fr best point in sailing evidently beinsr with a free sheet. About dusk the vessel suddenly piled up on top of one of tha numerous sandbanks in the harbor, and this being thought an appropiate place the health of the owner and builder was drunk with a bumper, he having thoughtfully put a l-*rge stock of " flz " on board, as well a. eatables, the sea air having Bomewhat sharpened the appetites of the excursionists. Several ether toasts followed, and after the - lapse of half an hour the sohooner floated, and a start wa. midß homeward, dropping anchor opposite Mr BurfordN wharf at 6 p.m. The Uno sails to-night for Astrolabe.
