VOLUNTEER MANŒUVRES.

Sir — As we are to re deprived of the Easter Encampmtnt this year, why should not those volunteers who do not wish to ;io e tbeir fthree "or; fpur ; " days military^ outingrnnd ! practice undertake a short s'ries| of autumn' manmivres at that' time, putting their own four days rations (say four pounis of ready co ked sausages, and *ix_ pounds of , bread or biscuits) in their baversacks, arid their rolled b'ankets over, their shoulders (German infantry fashion) and bivouacking | wherever convenient, while they rehearsed i such operations as they would probably have •: to put in practice should tbey ever be called onitodeferid their own homes and neighbor- : hood?
