- IBx Retjter's Submarine Cable. J NEWS OF THE SHIP STRATHMORE. Bombat, February 25. A ship touched at Galle yesterdiy, and landed twenty survivors of the Strathmore, from London to New Zsaland. She was wrecked on Croset Island in July, 1875. They were rescued in a wretched condition on Jan. 22 hy the American whaler Phoenix, which led in with, and transferred some of them to, the Josh Bent'ey. Mr Crombie was landed at Galle, al»o Mr and Mr* Wadsworth, Mr Walker, and Mr Keith The remainder are in the Phoenix. The mate and captain ofthe Strathmore were drowned. Sydnet, Feb. 29. The Tuscarora goes into dock here. The laying of the New Zealand cable obviates tho necessity of her taking the course she orlainally intended, but she proceeds to New Ztaland aud thence round to Fiji. . The Ringarooma arrived yesterday.
