MBi/BOtmNB, January 12. Elizabeth Bews, a married woman, committed suicide by cutting her throat at Hotham, being of unsound mind. Captain Fermaner has returned from the Straits, bringing a part of the wreck of the Jessie Black found on Deal Island. The search for the crew was without success, and all must have perished. Brisbane, January 12. A fearful gale at Gympie levelled the local courthouse and Varieties theatre with the ground. Several other buildings were damaged.
