WELLINGTON RACES.
Wellington, Tuesday. I'jioviNciA.r, Tlate of 125 soys, 1 1 mile*.— For this event there were seven entries, Phoenix, Premier, Princess Mary, Gtenary. Voltarine, Voltair, and Flora M'Donald. Phoenix at once went to the front at a rattling pace, leafing the others ia a cluster behind. Princess Mary made an effort to P*t to the frout, but was weighted too heivily and soon fell into the reir again. Phoenix BWU kept the load, with Voltair and Premier c!o<e behind, and Flora M'Donald third, running- well within herself. In the last half mite Flora forced herself into the first place, and maintained it to the winning post, finishing a well contested race by a couple of lengths, Premier second, about a length in front of Phcon x, Gienary fourth. It rained heavily all the afternoon.
