But about one o'clock the signal was t-ken down, and aaother one substituted for it which conveyed inteiligence of a less pleasing nature, for it snowed that tbe Murray; Which started for the West Coast yesterday morning with seventy passengers, was returning. On her arrival at the wharf, Captain Palmer reported that the weather was eo bid that it was Impossible for him to round the Spit He lay last night in Totjranui,- and this morning steamed to the Spit end, but he found so furious a westerly gale blowing thafr it was impossible to fica, it and he tberelore deemed it prudent to run back to Nelson. If the weather shows signs of improvement, she will sail again at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
