WAIMEA ROAD BOARD.
Tuesday, Novshbbr 2, / The Board met at the Richmond Institution, Present — Messrs Baigent (chairman), Barnicoit, Belli Mattin, and Jordan. The minutes of last meeting having bwfo read and confirmed, The Overseer made the following re-poit:—-Thfl total sums expended iv the different Bdb-dietricls during the past month, including d*y labor, &c, t are as follows :—Stoke, £36 18s 7d ; Waimea East, ±12 63 ; Spring Grove, £20 12s; W«keflel<i, £9 4s 6d ; Waimea West, £31 5s 10i ; andrDovedale, £42 Gs. Th^se atnouota include the lowering of baoita in Pigeon Valley between Brad- i ley'e aectioo and Mr B. Fairhall'a Mill. Resolved, That t4|p Overseer'get the dttoh on Mr Best's land cleared oat, aad that tenders .be invited for next meeting for carting the shingle. « Thb Secretary reported ; that 'MX Fettit had lodged io his hands the amount of aabacriptions for the Bridge Valley whereupon Mr Ricketta had received notice to proceed with the. work. .The Surveyor reported haying made survey for the proposed road from . Appleby Bridge, and : communicated with Mr, Armstrong on the subject., to which no reply had yet been received. .-• Resolved, tbat (be following-lenders b& aqcepted ;r~ J. Wagataff,. for improving road in Wai-iti yaliey, £90 ; W. Newraaii, for gravelling' part of the Stanley Brook road, 26a a chain ; R. Wio, for lowering Smith's Hill, near Thorpe, £12 10s-; J. Wilkinson, for making road Over Kenyoa'a Kill, £18 ; J. Schw^aa, for formiog road on Moutere HUts, £49 15a, Also, that fresh tenders be invited for gravelling part of the read in Pigeon Valley towards Dovedale, the tenders reoeived being 'too high. r ili: Me Kelliag attended, and represantc ed the necessity of gravelling about 24 chains of the road leading (o his pro■perty, and : towards which he and his "neighbors would contribute. Thy Overseer was directed to get it done./ . A letter was received from the r/v. <Mr Moon covering a resolation of Ahe Vestry, at WakeOeld, requesting /the . - Board's assistance in clearing gora^ off , tb© road leading to the church.
