The Union Company's steamer Hawea, Captain Wheeler, leit Onebunga at 4 30 pm. oa Satarday, and anchored inside the bar under South Heads at 5-30, the bar being too rough to cross until daylight on Monday, arriving at Taranaki at 7 p.m.; discharged .partof. cargo, and left at 10 .p.m., arriving here at I*3o this afternoon. - The ship Border Chief, 1010 tons, Captain Leslie, arrived at Wellington from London early, oa Saturday morning last, alter a - pissage of 91 days from pilot to pilot. During the passage a quantity of railway Iron and about 80 tons ot gunpowder got adrift in tbe ■ : hold through bad stowage, placing tbe ship : In great peril, but fortunately the danger was escaped by throwing the whole of the powder : ' overboard.
