Wood stated that Dr Collis Bbowne was undoubtedly the inventor of " CHLORODYNE;" that the story of the defendant, Freeman being the inventor, was deliberately untrue, which he regretted had been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr J. Collis Bbowne was the ducoverer of Chlorodyne; that they prescribed it largely, and metm no othei than Dr Browne's. — See Tin. ex. of July 12, 1--64. 'J he Public, therefore, are oautioned against using any other than Db. J. Collis Bbowne's Chlobodyne. Montgomery, Esq., late Inspector 1 of Hospitals, Bombay : — " Chlorodyne is a ; most valuable remedy in Neuralgia, Asthma, and Dysentery. To it I fairly owe my . restoration to health, after eighteen months , Bevere Buffering, and when all other remedies ' ; had failed." ■ Dr. Lowe. Medical Missionary in India, , rep- rt" ( December, 1865) :— " That in nearly every case of ( holera in which Dr. J. Collis Bhowme's Chlorodyne was administered, the patient iecovered." Extract from the Medical Times, January 12, 1866: — ''Chlorodyne is prescribed by scores of orthodox medical practitioners. Of '■ course it would not thus be singularly popular, 1 did it not * supply a want and fill a place.' " Extract from the General Board of Health, 1 London, , as to its efficacy in Cholera : — " So > strongly convinced are we of the immense value; of this remedy, that we cannot too forcibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all esses." Beware of spurious and dangerous com- . pounds sold as " Chlobodyhb,"> from which ; frequent fatal results have followed.
