ARRIVAL OF THE HANNIBAL.

The ship Hannibil. 1198 tons, Cap'ain "Brown, 88 days out from London, was signalled this morning, when the s 1 earner Charles Edward wa* at once despatched to met t her, with the Immigration and Health Officers, and the Provincial Secretary on board, and towed ber down to the out r anchorage, where she now lien. She has lad a very favorable pa«sa?e, wlrch would have been fester, but that she was becalmed for ten days after csotsing the Equator On Saturday last she was at the entrance to Cook's Strait, when she encountered the furioua gale that; was experienced in Nelson, and has since then been, becalmed There were ten cases of gastric fever, and five of scarlatina, from the latter of which one child died. On the 9th of May, one of the crew "was found to be misting, voA it is supposed tbat he was washed overboard. The last caae of scarlatina commenced on <he lSth March, and the termination of the disease on the 17lhofMay. Four births occurred during the voyage, The number of passengers is 20 1, and of the crew 45. The immigrants for Kelson will be landed to-morrow morning, and those for the West Coast will he dfpatchei by the Murray at noon.
