"Wesleyan Church. — The "Rev. A. Reid, the Secretary of the "Wesleyan Conference, will preach in the "Wesleyan Church to-morrow morning and evening. On the following evening there will be a public meeting in celebration of the anniversary of the church. Fatal Accident. — We regret to learn that an accident, attended with fatal result?, occurred in the Upper Moutere, to a young man named Neumann, who was engaged in buah work, when a tree fell upon him, and inflicted such serious injuries that he died three hours afterwards. Further particulars have not yet reached us. Masonic Hall. — The St. Vincent's Gem Concert Company, who have just had a most successful season on the "West Coast, where they have played to crowded houses, will appear for the first time in Nelson, on Monday evening. The Company comprises several artists who are highly spoken of. Bt the steamer. Taranaki, last "Wednesday, there arrived from the South, on their way to San Francisco, Messrs Philippi and'Pierson, who formed the American photographic party for observing the recent transit of Venus at Queenstown, Otago, and have turned their visit to account by taking some beautiful views of New Zealand scenery, which are intended for the Universal Exhibition at Philadelphia in 187 G. i The Bishop of Nelson fell in with the party on their way from Picton, and as » they could only spare one day in Nelson, he did alt he could to aid them, and with the assistance of Messrs Cross and Lowe at the port, they succeeded in obtaining no fewer than fourteen large views of Nelson, including the Port, Cliffs, four from the Church Hill, the College, railway works, &c. Messrs Philippi "and Pierson have made arrangements with Mr H. Jackson for acting as agent for the sale of the photographs, which are as fine as any which have ever been taken by professionals or amateurs, and a supply may be looked for in the course of ten days or a fortnight. Licensino Court. — The Licensing Court for the district of Suburban North was held this morning, when the two houses in the district were relicensed, Antonio Mikklesen being the landlord of the Bay View, and T. Dodson of the Suburban North Hotel, which name has been substituted for " The Black Horse." Executive Dinner.— -A dinner was given by the Executive last night at M'Gee's Hotel to the members of the Provincial Council, all of whom were present wilh the exception of Messrs Doune, Kerr, Parker, and M'Gregor. A capital dinner was provided in Mr M'Gee's best etyle, and a very pleasant evening was spent.
