"VIEWING THE BODY."
To the Editor op the 'Evening Mail.' Sir — Your comment on ray letter has suggested to me the following observations, viz. : — That, as there is a vast difference between compelling juries, in every case, eveu the extraordinary one of an exhumed dead woman who had been buried three weeks, to " view the body;" and that of viewing external wounds on a recently dead body, which might require such an examination by few jurors, merely to obtain an evidence; so, also, there is a medium between viewing a Venus as described by "F.," and the blush about tho "leg" of a piano; the two extremes should be avoided — in medio stal virtus; but I suppose "F." had got so sick at viewing (he dead woman that he thought he might bo excused if he had to seek relief in the sight of a Veous. — I am, &c, A Reader.
